Guide to Undergraduate Studies (2018 edition, in Greek)

Transfer to the 5-year Undergraduate Study Program:

Based on article 43, of Law 4610/2019, the students enrolled in the Technological Education (TE) Program of the former TEI of Western Greece who had not graduated until the issuance of Law 4610/2019 (Government Gazette A70/7-5-2019), that is, those who, when the law came into force, had not completed all the obligations required by the Technological Education Study Program to obtain a degree, automatically joined the University of Peloponnese, with the right to complete their studies, either by remaining in the Technological Education Study Program, or transferring to the new 5-year Undergraduate Study Program Mechanical Engineering of the University of Pel/sou. According to the law, the transition to the new 5-year Undergraduate Study Program is possible under the condition that on the effective date of law 4610/2019, they are not in a semester of studies longer than the 12th semester (the law states n+4, where n are the semesters of study of the Technological Education Study Program, i.e. 8 semesters). In order for the students who remained at the Undergraduate Study Program TE to continue their studies, the academic operation of the Undergraduate Study Program TE of the former TEI of Western Greece is being temporarily continued by the new Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Peloponnese.

For the transfer of students from the Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program TE of the former TEI of Western Greece, who fulfill the above-mentioned condition of the law and wish to join the new 5-year Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Peloponnese, in accordance with No. 44/ 8.11.2019 (Session 162nd) and 8/16.02.2022 (Session 209th) decisions of the Senate of the University of Peloponnese, the requirement to attend additional courses is foreseen. This requirement arises in order for the student, a) to cover the difference of 60 ECTS, which results from the 240 ECTS he has accumulated by completing the MM.TE PPS up to the 300 ECTS required to complete the new PPS and b) to attend the additional courses considered necessary to obtain the learning outcomes of the new Undergraduate Study Program.

Completion Time of the pre-existing Technological Education Study Program

The time limit for the operation of the Undergraduate Study Program TE is determined by the maximum duration of study that the students who were last admitted to it are entitled to, i.e. the academic year 2018-19.

In general, based on the current legislation (law 4777/21, article 34, paragraph 1), the maximum duration of study for a Undergraduate Study Program of eight (8) academic semesters is this time, increased by four (4) academic semesters.

Especially, for admitted students, the acad. year 2018-19, given that on the date of entry into force of Law 4777/2021, these students had not exceeded the minimum duration of study of their study program, the calculation of the aforementioned maximum duration of study begins counting from the start of academic year 2021-2022 onwards (law 4777/21, article 58, par. 4).

Therefore, according to the above, the Undergraduate Study Program TE will operate for twelve (12) academic semesters counted from the start of the academic year. year 2021-2022, i.e. until the academic year 2026-2027 (including the examination period of September 2027).
