Discipline

The main subject of the Mechanical Engineer is his occupation in the fields of energy and the construction of machines and mechanisms, contributing to their research, design, study, construction, operation, administration and economy.

It deals with technical problems related to the production, transmission, distribution and use of energy, in its various forms such as thermal, nuclear, electrical and mechanical, as well as technical problems related to the construction and use of tools, mechanisms, machines, installations, equipment and their products. Additionally, it deals with installations related to heating, cooling, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing, as well as automation, robotics and mechatronics. Another occupation of the Mechanical Engineer is the organization of production, business administration and project management.

More specifically, the subject of Mechanical Engineering includes:

The construction and operation of all kinds of mechanical installations, machines and mechanisms, which require technical and economic planning with an appropriate selection of materials and the application of industrial processes, so that they can safely receive all kinds of loads on them (static, dynamic, seismic, thermal, impactors), as well as optimization of their properties, with safety and economy in mind.

The energy analysis of machines, units and facilities for the production, conversion and transfer of energy, heating, cooling, air conditioning, where the solution of technical problems related to the production, transfer and use of energy, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and environmentally friendly takes place and their efficient design.

The planning, optimization and management of industrial production and supply, with analysis and optimization of physical and administrative processes of production, storage, transport and quality control of goods, while ensuring the sustainability of industrial systems, the safety and health conditions of workers, the environmental protection, productivity and economic efficiency.
