  • Prof. Tsinopoulos Stefanos was awarded the Pericles Theocharis Academic Prize, of the category of Positive Sciences of the Academy of Athens, with a cash prize of 5000 euros, for the paper “Numerical Determination of crack stress and deformation fields in gradient elastic solids,” with co-authors Ms. Gerasimos Karlis, Demosthenes Polyzos and Dimitrios Beskos, which was presented at the international engineering conference “IUTAM Symposium on Discretization Methods for Evolving Discontinuities” held in Lyon, France, 4-7 September 2006 and included in its proceedings (A. Combescure et al. (Eds.), Springer, ISBN 978-1-4020-6529-3, 2007), doi: 10.1007/978-1-4020-6530-9_21.
  • The members of the academic community of the Department Stefanos Tsinopoulos , professor and Gortsas Theodoros , contract lecturer, participated in the work “An accelerated boundary element method via cross approximation of integral kernels for large-scale cathodic protection problems” (doi: 10.1111/mice.12687) published in the highly acclaimed journal “Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering” by Wiley publishing house with impact factor (2020): 11.775 .
