The Steam Boilers-Steam Turbines Laboratory has as its main objective the training of students in the field of Steam Boilers and Steam Turbines, i.e. the production and use of thermal and electrical energy through steam. In the Laboratory, the students get to know, in addition to the main facilities, various auxiliary facilities, such as the steam chamber, the water softening system for feeding the steam boiler, the fuel supply and operation of the burners, the steam condenser, the Cooling Tower, the speed regulation system of steam turbine etc.
In terms of research, the laboratory assists in the field of steam energy production, in addressing problems related to the operation of steam boilers and steam turbines, as well as in investigating their performance.
