Department of Mechanical Engineering

Welcome to the website of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Peloponnese.

The Department belongs to the School of Engineering and is located in Patras. It was founded in May 2019 by article 46 of Law 4610/2019 (Government Gazette 70/A/7.5.2019) as a development of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Technological Education of the former Technical University of Western Greece.

The main missions of the Department are:

To provide high-level cutting-edge education in the field of Mechanical Engineering, so that its graduates have the necessary knowledge, judgment and skills to contribute to the development of businesses and organizations; and,
To conduct research with the ultimate goal of advancing the science of Mechanical Engineering (basic research) and developing innovative mechanical systems, products and computational tools for Mechanical Engineering (applied research).

Τhe Department of Mechanical Engineering is part of the School of Engineering of the University of the Peloponnese at Patra, Achaia, where its educational and administrative activities are located.

Graduate Studies

The Undergraduate Studies Program (USP) is ten (10) academic semesters long and 300 ECTS. It has been structured to meet all the conditions on a single and indivisible graduate degree (integrated master)

Post-Graduate Studies

In the Department of Mechanical Engineering operates the Master’s Program “Mechanical Design using Digital Technologies”. It awards a Master’s Degree (MSc) in the respective field.

Research

The Department operates six statutory research laboratories, which support the research activities of its members and its post-graduate students.
