The Department of Mechanical Engineering is part of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Peloponnese (formerly T.E.I. of Western Greece) and is positioned in Patras, where its educational activities are located.
The main priority of the Department is to provide students with basic, as well as specialized knowledge and skills, required to work in economic sectors related to production processes, operation of mechanical, electronic and energy systems, environmental protection, and the development of new/advanced materials.
Therefore, the Department objectives and duties are, inter alia, to:
- Educate students in technology issues to showcase their skills in developing and promoting new technologies.
- Develop scientific links with industry by participating in production processes and promoting innovative projects aimed at the development of know-how in Greece.
- Engage in Applied Technology Research.
- Treat programs and specialization courses in modern technologies, aiming at the continuous training of TEI/AEI graduates to them.
By completing their Diploma studies, students acquire Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
